With B.O.F.F. Wall Bed Furniture's fully modular design concept, can easily convert any room into a multifunctional space. Its wall beds can be installed in homes, condos, cottages, and hotels, or anywhere an extra bed is required.
Well established in Quebec and Ontario through a network of showrooms, B.O.F.F needed to expand its growth beyond its traditional geographic area. Nothing better than to reinforce its online presence via a modern and efficient eCommerce platform.
Since the installation of its wall beds is done by teams of professional installers but can also be self-installed by B.O.F.F. customers as part of a new RTA focus, a solution was needed to train and support assemblers of B.O.F.F. products but also to help consumers install wall beds themselves in an easy, enjoyable and safe way.
The second challenge was to keep the guide consistent for both users who purchased only the B.O.F.F retractable bed mechanism and users who ordered the entire bed with these parts and hardware.
The third challenge was to model all the missing parts and hardware and build a library of 3D assets that could be reused by B.O.F.F. to create other types of visual experiences such as photographs in virtual environments, 3D configurators and augmented reality.
In collaboration with Synode, B.O.F.F. started creating an interactive 3D guide to accompany users step by step through the assembly process of one of their flagship wall bed.
The Synode team digitized all the parts needed for the project, and documented the entire assembly process step by step.

Once the digitization of the wall bed parts completed and the documentation/standardization process finished after field visits to the B.O.F.F plant and meetings with key stakeholders, the 3D interactive guide project could be started.
With the 3D Synode instructions, we are moving to another level at B.O.F.F.

As expected, the end result is used as much by B.O.F.F. assemblers as a reference and training tool as it is by B.O.F.F. consumers. The time required for assembly has been significantly reduced and simplified. Customer satisfaction has increased and pressure on customer service has decreased .
The most important gain is B.O.F.F's enhanced ability to sell its products outside of its traditional geographic areas and thus substantially increase its sales and gain new market share.
